Intermittent Fasting
Intermittent Fasting is a Huge Topic of conversation these days. I have found great results myself and wanted to take the time to share with you more details on what it is and how to successfully try it. It is important to note that I don't encourage you to starve yourself or to put yourself in any danger. While I do myself practice fasting I do so at the start of each day with my bulletproof coffee and make sure to hydrate myself, therefore my body can withstand 12-18 hours of no food.
So let's talk about the facts.... Humans have actually been fasting throughout evolution, we have come so far from this concept but need to remember our roots.. Fasting was done because food was simply not available. We may also consider that it has also been a part of major religions, including Islam, Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism. Our hunter-gatherer ancestors didn't have supermarkets, refrigerators or food available year-round. Sometimes we couldn't find anything to eat, and so, our bodies evolved to be able to function without food for extended periods of time.
I don't blame us humans for being overweight and utterly confused. But I do believe that at this point in life with all the incredible scientific research to prove that the current Dietary pyramid is not helping us live optimal lives, we need to take a closer in-depth look at our Primal Instincts, and how Us Humans survived off of a Primarily Fat based diet.
The basic idea behind plain intermittent fasting is to eat all of your daily food in a shortened period (8 hours in the case of Lean Gains) and fast the rest of the time. This tells your body to simultaneously build muscle and burn fat.
If you are a busy person, busy mom, it is so hard to worry about what your going to cook yourself in the morning while your rushing around to get your children ready for school and or other miscellaneous activities, hunger is a total distraction. Then there are those who desperately need to loose weight because they are 30lbs overweight. Skipping a meal can feel scary and impossible. But if you do fasting correctly you will find that your mind is clear and your bodies ability to burn fat is much easier. You don't have to rely on massive amounts of excessive exercise to see your body change.
As explained in The Bulletproof Diet book, Bulletproof Intermittent Fasting is an easy biohack that changes that and makes it possible to lose fat and build muscle faster than plain intermittent fasting… without feeling hungry or tired. bulletproof.com

Here is the Protocol that I follow: bulletproof.com
